3DD - Day 3 // Goodbye Tracing Paper

REMOVAL OF TRACING PAPER.

Idea development continued alongside starting to refine our structures and the additions that we created.
I had issues in terms of deciding which structure I was going to use because I added functions and other designs onto different buildings but wanted to combine them all into one.

This task was quite challenging because I needed to let my ideas of designing the structure flow more so I could think of a function for it. Whereas I kept on thinking of functions simultaneously when designing additional aspects for my structure. Another aspect that I could improve on is the scale because the people turned out to not be in scale with the structure I created.

In the end I didn't choose the structure I focused on at the beginning because I felt my other structure had more elements of form involved. I also chose this structure because I was pleased with the functions I created for it when using tracing paper.

Below, I have included designs and ideas that I formed from the work I created on tracing paper.

This a three floored architectural structure, with a concreted public space beneath the building, which would include fountains and benches. To reach the first floor, there would be an escalator located behind the large panel leg, by the top left hand corner of the base of the structure.

As I progressed with the task, I found it quite challenging to extend by drawings beyond the original structure I made. Eventually, I started to create designs that extended beyond the structure or removed parts of the structures. For example, in the images above, I removed the curved tall panels that were in the front of the structure. (shown in previous blog).
