Everyday Olympics 2

Consolidating my observations prompted me to focus on my main themes and integrate them into my designs.

I have found myself conducting this task in a very 'interaction like' manner.

I decided to use 'my roaming perspective' map for the floor plan of the space. Similar to the olympic park, I will use the shapes of the main event points as the basis of the building design.

Day 3

Each event building relates to the process of regeneration/changing environment of social housing in the area. This can be seen in the progressive changes in size, and atmosphere. Middle event space showing the perfect artificial hub of what developers have achieved, but task involves the participant to unlock a simple box that includes a model of what residents want.

The building/task point encompasses the form of the original points in the park. The task

Transportation around the space to each task will be in a washing basket, each one different reflecting the variety of buses that were available to view.

The waiting area for teams will be small gardens, like a greenhouse. Gardens are places of relaxation. The garden each team is allocated will be a hit and miss, similar to how the residents around stratford were in limbo in knowing if they were going to be uprooted from their homes or stay in their homes.

Drains that give off the chlorine smell shows one is so close to a pool yet one doesn't have the satisfaction to be in the Aquatic centre. This atmosphere will be put into the centre hub where the participants are so close to the model but cannot actually grasp it.

Curtains are put in place to replace the cranes that acted as a security force.

The prompt to do the 'intense centre' task will come around when unexpected sounds and smells (Kitchen smells, as most smells would derive from there) would be diffused into the arena. The smells would be released from large kettles. This would be released through the functions of an iron e.g. puff of steam, sprays of water.
If one fails the task to create a replica structure, a large iron will descend and flatten the creation, whilst the sounds of lorries reversing will be played.
